Was recieved as a member of Schodack Reformed Dutch Church 1-14-1792. He was Deacon1798,99,1800, and was a member of the Consistory 1805,06,09,10,16.

Cornelius lived to the ripe old age of 83, outliving his wife by 10 years. He evidently did quite well for himself, for his granddaughter, Elizabeth Porter, remembered in 1913 visiting his house about 1833, four years before he died. She was only 5 at the time, but remembered the house as "big, with large rooms and shiny floors".

He'd probably moved up to Schodack, NY from around Fishkill after his father died, for he's listed on the 1790 census of Rensselaerwick, and joining the Schodack Reformed Dutch Church by 1792, where he became a prominent and active member.

He'd fought in the American Revolution as a member of the 6th Dutchess Co. Militia, Col., Morris Graham's regiment. By the time he died, many of his children had moved away, many of them a bit futher north to Saratoga County, but according to a short biography of his daughter Elizabeth, his house was kept until his death by that doting daughter.

bullet  Research Notes:

Aunt Libbie recalled in the early 20th century that Conellius Dubois lived in Schodack. She recalled a big house with large rooms and shiny painted floors, where she visited with uncle John and aunts Christina and Eliza Dubois when she was 5 years old. (she was born in 1827, so this would have been in 1833)
