General Notes: This record says that she was born in Lille, France, but at the time of her birth Lillie was under the Catholic control of the Spanish Hapsburgs. She was no doubt a Protestant like her husband and fled the wartorn area of what is now northern France for those reasons. She was very much Dutch and not French, being one of the Huguenots who settled along the Hudson River valley. See the notes on her husband for more.
