General Notes:
1802/4: E. Greenbush DRC records indicated that she was the mother of Peggy, b. 1802 and Charity, b. 1804 (Vital Records of the East Greenbush Reformed Church, East Greenbush, Rensselaer County, NY (Arthur C.M.Kelly, Kinship, Rhinebeck, New York, 1994)
and a Nassau DR record showing that she was the mother of John Roraback, 1806.
1806: Father's will; £8, 10
See the notes on her husband, Jonathan DuBois. In all of material in Mott, Elizabeth is considered to be the ancestor of Charity DuBois Porter -> Harriet Lavinia Porter Mott -> Wesley Mott -> Mayhew Mott, but this is brought into question by the actual dates of Catharine Ham DuBois' death and the baptism records of Jonathan's first two children. (See the remarks on Jonathan DuBois)
Elizabeth Ham's parentage has been determined by the baptism records of 1778 of the Claverack Dutch Reformed church and the will of her father, written in 1806. While no record of the marriage exists, the lineage is quite clear from letters written by her sister-in-law in 1867 (see the notes on her husband) and other letters. One of the confusions in this family is that her brother, Conradt, married her husband's sister Elizabeth - so she and her sister in law swapped last names. 339

Looks like the only newspaper in the area in the 1860s would be the Ballston Journal which The Ballston Spa Library has on microfilm: https://bspl.sals.edu/special-collections/
NOT HER: There is a probate record (Administration) for August 1, 1862 which says she was a resident of Ulster County prior to her death: https://www.ancestry.com/imageviewer/collections/8800/images/005526482_00292?pId=5830923 Says will is attached. Vol W-X, 1862-1865 has a Mary Dubois (138) General Index: shows a will for (1856) Elizabeth Dubois in Ledger T, page 130: https://www.ancestry.com/imageviewer/collections/8800/images/005526456_00086?pId=5830923
The information on file with the DuBois Family Association has the death date of Elizabeth Ham DuBois as 2-29-1862. My genealogy software won't accept that date, and according to the encyclopedia, leap years only occur in years evenly divisible by 4, which 1862 is not. I doubt that there was a Feb. 29th in 1862, although, for other reasons, it was a long year.
