Ida appears on the 1930 census as a widow and Head of Household, although she is living next door to Walter and Violet Petersen, age 41 and 37 and their children Royal Thurston (17) and Lorraine Thurston (18). Evidently Violet was married to a Thurston and the children were hers before she married Walter Peterson. All a bit of a mystery because the census gives 19 for Violet's age at first marriage. |
