An 18 year old Esther Atwater moved from the 'big city' of New Haven to the 'Northeast' of Dutchess county in1754. She was the fifth child in the family and seven more would be born to her parents. She evidently met and married the 24 year old Mayhew Daggett soon after arriving at her new home, and he may have been an apprentice blacksmith with her father.
Her life was full of people. She gave birth to 11 children herself and there were many family connections with her siblings over the years. It's not clear when she died, it could have been anytime in a 20 year span, but more likely it was not long before her husband remarried in 1789. 4
Esther married Mayhew DAGGETT, son of Thomas DAGGETT and Elizabeth BLAKE, in 1752-1754 in Charlotte Precinct, Dutchess, New York.1 2 (Mayhew DAGGETT was born on 10 Jan 1730 in Attleboro, Bristol Co., MA 5 6 and died after 1800.)

Nelson was the subject of Kay Lundell's earlier work, "Triumphant Banners".
The supplement's primary focus is on Mary's parents, Mayhew Daggett and Esther Atwater and includes their biographies as well as about 60 family group sheets tracing the Daggett and Atwater lines. The parentage of Mayhew Daggett runs counter to the 1894 genealogy of Samuel and George Daggett and hence to many of the genealogies submitted to the LDS and to online databases.
