Three Generations of Johann Conrad Ham & Christina Streit

Johann Conrad Ham was the sixth child of Conrad Ham who, with his brothers Peter and Caspar, fled the Palatinate region of Germany in 1709 to come to America in 1710 to work for the British government to process tar for the navy. In 1712 they were abandoned to their own devices. The three are among the oldest progenitors of the Ham/Hamm name in America. Johann's wife, Christina Streit, was also a Palatine immigrant, the daughter of Frederick Streit and Anna Catharina Maul. (Footnote: Jones, H. Z. (2001). The following descendancy uses various sources, primarily Henry Jones' Palatine families of New York, the rough research notes of David Kendal Martin, Warren Hamm, baptism and family records. Wills were primary: the 1806 will of Johann and the 1835 will of his son Conrad were vital.
