The Old families of Salisbury and Amesbury, Massachusetts, with some related families of Newbury, Haverhill, Ipswich, and Hampton, and of York County, Maine. Author.......... Hoyt, David Webster, 1833-1921. Susanna Cooke of London Most sources say she was born in London and became the second wife of Richard Singletary in Massachusetts about 1639. Her father was likely William Cooke, but there are two baptisms for a Susanna Cooke, daughter of a William Cooke in London in 1616, one at St. Giles, Cripplegate, the other at St. Mary's Whitechapel. The baptisms are five months apart. Susannah married Richard Singletary about 1639 in Salisbury, Essex, MA.1382 (Richard Singletary was born in 1585 in England and died 25 Oct 1687 in Haverhill, Essex, MA 1369.) |
