Daniel Thurston

  General Notes:

Daniel Thurston came to America evidently with his uncle of the same name, the elder Thurston dying in 1665 and giving Daniel all of his property by will. He came to America sometime between 1635 and 1638, the records of Newbury, MA dating 24 November 1638 indicating a grant of a house lot of four acres. I've only examined carefully the 1880 editon of the Thurston genealogies, but I suspect that the 1892 edition establishes the English identies of Daniel Thurston, and perhaps the connection to other Thurstons that emmigrated at about the same time. The Thurston Genealogies give little indication of the life of Daniel Thurston, who was the American father of this line. ¹⁹³

Daniel married Ann Pell, daughter of Joseph Pell and Elizabeth James, 20 Oct 1655 in Newbury, Essex, Mass. (Ann Pell was born in 1635 in Lynn, Essex, MA.)
