27 June 1681: asked to be reappointed as carter since he "suffered great misfortune through the sinking of his boat".
July 5: appointed carter.
2 May 1682: contracted with his brother-in-law to build a 36 foot boat with 4 bunks.
Will dated 5 Sept 1685 names his wife but not his children, who were to receive a half share should she remarry. 699
