General Notes: Indication that he had a brother William living in New Haven: 6 Aug 1650 at Court held at New Haven: " William Potter was called before the Court and was desired to inform them, what profitt that heiffer he had of Hanah Potters his kinswomans,* hath amount to for her advantage...and keepe her till his kinswoman was of age to receive her...." *Footnote: " Probably the daughter of his brother John, who died in New Haven in 1643. " p44 Research Notes: A widow Beecher, who later became widow Potter, was the midwife of early New Haven and was a very valued member of the community., p36. John married Hannah circa 1620-1625 in England. (Hannah was born about 1584 in England and died in 1659 in New Haven, Connecticut.) |
