Town lands divided in 1647 and Thomas was one of those who received a share. • residence: by patent adjoining Milddleburgh (Newtown), 1654, Flushing, New York. 2128 • Sued: by people of Newtown, 1656, Newtown, NY. Report of the history of this contention is complete in Stevenson's book starting at page 9. (also in Doc. Hist. New York, Vol XIV, p 360) • Record: last record of him is in 1662 in a suit by others where he is refered to, 4 Nov 1662. Dr. Stevenson says he likely died shortly after for there is record in 1668: (see probate event.) • Probate, 15 Aug 1668, Jamaica, New York. 2129 "Mr Robert Coe, and Mr. Daniel Denton of Jamaica having been heretofore overseers and guardians of the estate and children of Thomas Stevenson, deceased, late of Newtown: they are admitted and confirmed as administrators to the estate of Thomas Stevenson." Coe declined and Anthony Waters of Jamaica was appointed administrator on August 15. Thomas married Mary Bullock wid Barents 15 Aug 1645 in New York.2126 |
