Susanna Fancy
(Abt 1757-1838) |
Susanna Fancy 1631
General Notes: Probably one of the last witches in Dorset although it may be her daughter. The Diary of the Rev. William Ettrick is quoted in Joan Brocklebanks' book to some extent although there is no real indication of her birth and death. Research at Robert Hillier's website seems to indicate that she was born in 1758 and buried at Turner's Puddle on 6 May 1838. Ettrick was the rector of Turners Puddle and vicar of Affpuddle at the time of her supposed witchcraft. Susanna married George Woodrow, son of John Woodrow and Mary Easter, in 1785 in Bere Regis, Dorset, England.1631 (George Woodrow was born in 1740, christened in 1740 in Turnerspuddle, Dorset, England,1028 died in 1794 and was buried 3 May 1794 in Turnerspuddle, Dorset, England 1028,1632.) |
