  General Notes:

Christen Andersen in Råbjerg (1716 - 1748) and Christen Andersen in Bratten (1714 - 1801) is often confused

Christen Andersen was married to a wife with unknown name for about 1747, and they had the following children:

On January 1, 1764 was Christen Andersen's daughter buried, 16 years [Elling Sogn, kirkebog for 1758-1818 page 404 lookups 156]. She must therefore be born about 1748th
Anna Christensdatter was born about 1752 Bratten, Elling Sogn.
Jens Christensen was born about 1753 in Bratten, Elling Sogn.

On 23 November 1770 buried Christen Andersen daughter of Bratten [Elling Sogn, kirkebog for 1758-1818 page 410 lookups 159]. Since we have not found her born in the parish register, we assume that she was born before the church records began in 1759th

On August 30, 1772 buried Christen Andersen son of Bratten [Elling Sogn, kirkebog for 1758-1818 page 413 lookups 160]. Since we have not found him born in the parish register, we assume that he was born before the church records began in 1759th

On 18 November 1763 Christen Andersen's wife of Bratten buried, age 53 years [Elling Sogn, kirkebog for 1758-1818 page 404 lookups 156].

We suspect that her first name was Maren as the first female child in Christen Andersen's second marriage was called Maren and in due time the name of custom named after her.

Nor do we know whether Anna and Jens was the oldest child. Jens was mentioned first in the shift by Christen Andersen, but it was men always on time. ¹⁶⁶²

Maren Christensdatter, 21 years old , child of the last marriage
Thomas Christensen, 14 years old, child of the last marriage
Margrethe Christensdatter, 12 years old child of past marriage

Christian next married Maren Thomasdatter 12 Oct 1764 in Elling Parish, Horns Hundred, Hjørring Co., Denmark.¹⁶⁶² (Maren Thomasdatter was born in 1739 ¹⁶⁶² and died after 1801 ¹⁶⁶².)

  Marriage Notes:

On April 12, 1764, there were betrothal in Jerup with widower Christen Andersen of Bratten and betrothed Maren Thomasdatter . Groomsmen were Niels Andersen of Jerup and Mads Pedersen of Bratten. They were married October 12, 1764 [Elling Sogn, kirkebog for 1758-1818 page 564 lookups 190]. ¹⁶⁶²
