• Removal: to New Jersey, est 1683. 1989 "The date of the Allen's removal to Shrewsbury remains unsettled. On 8 November 1683, Job Almy of Portsmouth, Rhode Island, sold to Jedidiah Allen of Sandwich, Almy's share in the township of 'Shrewsberry,' with the exception of the house lot. However, the earliest evidence of Jedidiah's presence in Shrewsbury was on 15 May 1685, when administration of the estate of the deceased Joseph Parker was granted to Allen and on George Hulett, both identified as Shrewsbury residents." (citing East Jersey Deeds and Rhode Island Land Evidences, also N.J. Archives 21:63 and 23:352)

• Land: 410 acres in Monmouth County, 28 Oct 1687, Shrewsbury, New Jersey. 1989 "...a patent was issued to Allen..., 'part as headland for himself, wife, and ten children, and part as to an old settler or patentee.' He is identified as being 'of Shrewsbury' in numberous transactions by which he sold property, commencing on 13 November 1683. (citing East Jersey Deeds and N.J. Archives in footnote 52)
