Thomas Talbot ¹⁶⁹³

Thomas was the brother of William Talbot (I). Not mentioned in the Visitation, but mentioned in William's will; he helped William buy his land in Broadmayne.

This Thomas Talbot (senior) is mentioned in the PCC will of Richard Squibb, 1580: 'my brother in law Thomas Talbott of Mayne'; in the 1623 Visitation of Dorset, Richard Squibb's wife is given as Elizabeth daughter of … Talbott of Mayne. She was probably the sister of William Talbot (I) and Thomas Talbot senior. Jane, a daughter of Richard Squibb and his first wife, a daughter of 'Miches of Portisham', also married a Talbott. This Jane appears in the Visitation, but she is not mentioned in Richard Squibb's will. I presume this is because, unlike her four sisters, she was already married. I wonder which Talbot she married? ¹⁶⁹³
