bullet  General Notes:

The Talbots of Broadmayne emerge in the 1623 Heralds' Visitation, and a little more information is available in John Hutchins's 'Dorset' and in an article by E. R. Sykes on Little Mayne in the Proceedings of the Dorset Natural History and Archaeological Society vol.59 (1937).

William Talbot is recorded in Alumni Oxoniensis as having been at Corpus Christi College, Oxford, in 1547. BA supd 1551. Inner Temple 1555. 'As of Broad Mayne, Dorset'. This suggests he was born about 1530. 1693
