He may have been a brother of William Talbot (IV) or may have been a cousin; they were certainly related, as his will shows. He was certainly the brother of Aaron.
In his will of 1664 he bequests to William Talbot of Little Mayne, WT's three children and Stephen's 'dear brother' Aaron Talbot.
