  General Notes:

They settled in Hancock at "101"; removed to Vermont in 1802, and to Ohio in 1817.
Exactly what "101" was other than an address is unknown, but there is a story about Nathan Brooks in Hayward's book about Nathan shooting at wild turkeys: "After the turkeys were well baited, Mr. Lakin and his neighor, Nathan Brooks, who lived at No. 101, went down in the night and waited for them to come out for their morning meal. With the early dawn they made their appearance, led by a staid, old gobbler. Mr. Brooks was so excited that he fired at them without taking good aim. The ball lodged in a tree; but all the injury inflicted on the turkeys was, they were badly frightened!" (page 73.) ²⁴⁶

There is also a Daniel Morse on that page which might be the father of his wife Sarah. He is listed next to John Brooks (brother?). There are several other Brooks surnames on that page as well.
