William, like his brothers, was a gamekeeper in Sussex. At Woolbeding (1796), Stedham (1807). [Sussex Record Society, Vol LI, Record of Duputations of Gamekeepers]

Also likely he was gamekeeper in Affpuddle for James Frampton in 1825 per the Gamekeeper Lists:

Some have him married to Ann Hurst in Wool in 1792 per https://www.opcdorset.org/WoolFiles/WoolMarriages.htm
but this is belayed by the his will in which he gives all his property to Charlotte Woodrow, and the marriage record of his marrying Charlotte Clarke in 1790 in Affpuddle. ⁵⁶
