bullet  General Notes:

Indication that he had a brother William living in New Haven: 6 Aug 1650 at Court held at New Haven: " William Potter was called before the Court and was desired to inform them, what profitt that heiffer he had of Hanah Potters his kinswomans,* hath amount to for her advantage...and keepe her till his kinswoman was of age to receive her...." *Footnote: " Probably the daughter of his brother John, who died in New Haven in 1643. " p44

Would also indicate the existence of another child of John and Hannah Beecher, a daughter.

See the notes on his wife, Hannah. The record of this marriage and the lineage is very confused with respect to the records of the early New Haven Colony, although Jacobus is quite certain of the lineage, and he is a good source. The Ancestral File of the LDS, however, is a different story. 209,731

bullet  Research Notes:

A widow Beecher, who later became widow Potter, was the midwife of early New Haven and was a very valued member of the community., p36.
