• She appeared on the census in 1850 in Chatham, Columbia Co., NY. Age 75 with husband Michael, age 78, Sylvester age 36 and Nancy age 50. (Chatham is about four miles south of Nassau where she is buried.)

Maria married Michael SMITH, son of Augustinus ("Tunis") SMITH and Tabitha HAM. (Michael SMITH was born in 1772, christened on 28 Apr 1772 in Elizaville (Manorton), NY, died in 1855 and was buried in Nassau, Rensselaer Co., NY ².)
