(This church was established Aug. 17, 1659, the first building being a log 'ediface' at the northeast coner of Main and Pearl Strrets close to the present (1968) building. In 1676 it was 'destitue of a minister' and remained so for 11 years, no
doubt explaining the absense of a baptismal record for Jannetje Burhans.)
