Tombstone deathdate although the family Bible gives the deathdate as 7-15-1781 (Heidgerd note: "(Probably the weathered tombstone was hard to read.)
1 July 1741, Fishkill RDC: Jonathan and his wife are listed as members and lived east of Sprout's Creek
"Jonathan DuBois lived and died on his inherited lands, respected and esteemed." Vol 1, p60.
Jonathan's godparents were his grandmother Helena Traphagen and her brother Johannes. He inherited land from his father on Sprout's Creek not far from Fishkill, NY and there "Jonathan DuBois lived and died on his inherited lands, respected and esteemed." He and his wife were members of the Fishkill Dutch Reformed Church and are buried in the graveyard there. 1
Jonathan married Ariaantje OOSTERHOUT, daughter of Pieter Jan OOSTERHOUT and Heyltjen SCHUT, on 16 Aug 1732 in Kingston Drc. (Ariaantje OOSTERHOUT was born on 31 Jan 1712, christened on 3 Feb 1712, died on 3 Nov 1776 and was buried in Fishkill Drc Churchyard.)
