Dates from an undated letter from H. Elizabeth Mott to Ruth Mott Spicer, probably written in the late 1940's. She writes that the gravestones of her grandmother and grandfather Porter might be hard to find in the Chittenango cemetary, but that the stone of William might be there, and identify the plot. Of William: " He was a very much beloved playmate and companion of my mother until his early death at 15 years of age." 1
